DESCRIPTION: Legislation enacted in June of 2001 establishs a voluntary Responsible Alcohol Management Program Certification that provides incentives for licensees who participate. R.A.M.P. is the umbrella used to describe this collection of training and resources available to licensees and their employees. Completion of the program provides certification for two years. In order to comply, licensed establishments must complete all four parts of the program.

DESCRIPTION: The Comprehensive Highway Safety Program provides education and information on highway issues. Highway safety programs and training is available for preschool through senior high, colleges, business and industry, law enforcement, senior centers, community groups and public service organizations. Topics include:

  • Pedestrian Safety/School Bus Safety
  • Safe Driving/Safe Vehicle Characteristics

DESCRIPTION: The DUI Coordinator ascertains that all DUI offenders proceed through a uniform formal intervention and education process that matches their needs and the requirements of the law. The Coordinator is also responsible for:

  • establishment and management of the Alcohol Highway Safety School
  • implementing and overseeing the use of the Court Reporting Network (CRN) and
  • proper referral of the offender either out of the system or into a treatment program

DESCRIPTION: The Allegheny County Drug and Alcohol Program is the Single County Authority (SCA) established to provide administration, planning, and coordination of drug and alcohol services within the county. The only direct service that the SCA provides is case management. Treatment, prevention, and intervention services are contracted to independent provider agencies. Case Management services include service authorization, advocacy, service planning, follow-up, and continuity of care for individuals referred to residential care. Types of case management include Targeted Case Management and Service Coordination. Treatment, prevention, and intervention services are contracted to independent provider agencies.

DESCRIPTION: The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has the responsibility to investigate violations of beverage alcohol law. To report liquor law violations, you may call the 24 hours a day Hot line at 1-800-932-0602. All complaints, anonymous or otherwise, are investigated. You may also contact the District Office responsible for your county.

LCE also presents CHOICES, a program for school students which addresses the consequences of underage drinking.
